Whilst the brief for the project was fairly straight forward, our client was searching for the most cost-efficient method of completing the project without compromising on quality.
Our Solution
On Time Insulation has been pioneering the use of coloured foils on pipe insulation for several years now. A breakaway project for coloured foil was Lend Lease’s requirements of strictly no painting of exposed pipe insulation at International House Sydney (C2 Barangaroo). Instead, black ink was factory applied to standard aluminium foil facing and tape. This building was a huge success and has been used as an example of design by many since inception.
Taking this knowledge, we installed green coloured foil on pipe insulation at Tuggerah as a cost-saving over Colorbond cladding. The colour of the foil is matched exactly to Cottage Green Colorbond. This was approved and manufactured in short lead-time to be installed on the entire CHW pipe system.
Coloured foil can be a very cost-effective, quickly installed, option over traditional metal cladding or painting. Mostly in exposed areas that are not exposed to UV or mechanical damage.
